Saebert's Folc: Viking Age Reenactors from Essex
Created on Thursday, 01 October 2009
Welcome to the website of Saebert's Folc Herred!
We are the Essex group of The Vikings, the UK's oldest and largest Dark Age Re-enactment Society. We recreate the life and military history of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings in the early mediaeval period.
Our name comes from Saebert, a king of the East Saxons who is a good candidate for the identity of the Prittlewell Prince - or the Sutton Hoo burial, if you want to challenge the traditional identification of Raedwald (see Anglo-Saxon England 22, The Cambridge University Press)
