Have you ever thought of having a real live Viking or Saxon in your classroom?

Saebertsfolc are now proud to offer experienced, insured, CRB checked school visitors to provide a fun-packed educational day for your pupils throughout Essex and Suffolk. 

A visit from a “real Viking” is a great way to introduce the subject, give an overview of life during the Viking Age, or cover a particular aspect in depth.  We always recommend that schools make the day of the visit a Dressing Up Day, with the children (and teachers!) adopting home-made Viking costume and making a cardboard shield and sword.  Not only is this great fun and begins to enthuse the children for the subject, but the swords and shields can then be used for a Shield Wall Drill exercise which helps to focus the children and get them working together.

An authentically dressed Viking or Saxon warrior(your choice) will take your class through practical activities, hands-on sessions, weapons displays, daily life, time-lines, travel and trade: we will give your pupils a lively and inspiring introduction to their Key Stage 2 requirement for Invaders and Settlers.  If you're already working through the module we can also tailor our visit to cover in-depth work on one or two particular areas of study.

We can take from one class to an entire year group for the same cost, making our visit more cost effective.
